What is the source of the data for these charts and maps?

Most of the charting data come directly from the servers of the U.S. Census Bureau, the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. There are a few charts, however, that are based on data that are publicly available, but are not accessible through a public API. In those cases, the data are retrieved from Wyattopia databases. In any case, the actual datasource should be clearly identified on every chart.

All of the map data comes from TIGERweb, a mapping service provided by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Why are some of my columns blank or empty?

This is usually because the topic you selected isn't available for one or more of the geographies that are selected. For example, "Mean Hours Worked" isn't available for some block groups. To remove those blank columns from your chart, click on the settings tab, uncheck the geography level that is missing the data, then run your chart again.

Can I change the color scheme of the charts?

Not right now. However, this feature may be added in the future.

Can I change the style/color scheme of the map?

In the bottom right corner of the map there is a dropdown menu with numerous color schemes. In the future, you may be able to edit or create map styles. Stay tuned.
